I will make the room mostly Black and Red.
Black walls around the screen is needed so the screen light bounce back on the walls as less as possible.
Having light going from the screen on a white wall and coming back to the screen compromise very much the quality of your image...
A projection screen of 220cm x 124cm produce a lot of light, so it need to be controled...
I will use black velvet curtains and fabric to do so, but also some black acoustic foam.
I try to get two things from those curtains, foams and fabrics : Keeping the room as dark as possible during projection so its as immersive as possible, and at the same time control the sound of the room.
Thats why there will be also foam on 1/3 of the ceiling.
Front sounds need to be controled and easy to locate, while surround sound need to be a bit more diffuse, thats one of the reason why 2/3 of the ceiling will not have foam and why the back or the room will have some reflective surface where possible...
I was happy we could found really impressive quality heavy black velvet curtains and fabric (only fabric on that picture for now...).
Because Velvet have some very interesting effect on sound and light... exactly what i was looking for :)
It also cut light very well in case you need it.
I already blacked out all the windows so it was a less important point for me this time...
The ceiling part as you can imagine is difficult to handle and will take time, i do it slowly and try to keep it clean... i just startednot everything is there or fixed yet...
